Hosting
The price on the banner is rarely the price you pay. These are the checks that matter, for any host.
Intro prices need a long prepaid term, and renew much higher. On the large shared hosts' own pages (seen 6 November 2026), the lowest monthly price usually needs 36 to 48 months paid upfront, and renews at 2 to 4.5 times that price. No host publishes its prices in a form that can be checked automatically, so compare the renewal price on the checkout page.
WordPress.com runs WordPress for you (updates, security, backups) and limits plugins and custom code by plan. Self-hosted WordPress (the free software from wordpress.org on a host you choose) lets you install anything, and you or your host keep it updated. Both can connect to an AI agent: see Connect.
wordpress.org/hosting lists three hosts (Bluehost, Hostinger and Pressable on 6 November 2026). It shows no prices, and it says some listed hosts may donate to WordPress.org. Today WP lists no hosts and has no affiliate links.
